Providing a Platform for Youth Voices

The conference will serve as a structured avenue for young people to contribute to national discussions and policy formulation in a way that ensures their ideas translate into action.

Promoting National Unity and Cohesion

By bringing together youth from diverse backgrounds, the confab will foster conversations that strengthen social cohesion and shared national identity.

Addressing Pressing Youth Challenges

The conference will brainstorm and propose workable solutions on how to tackle critical issues affecting youths, such as unemployment, education, and healthcare, ensuring that youth concerns are addressed holistically.

Enhancing Networking and Collaboration

The conference will create opportunities for peer-to-peer learning, mentorship, and cross-sector partnerships, allowing young people to leverage each other's strengths and expertise.

Strengthening Youth Institutions

A key focus will be on enhancing the effectiveness and relevance of youth-focused institutions such as the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and other government-backed programs, ensuring they align with the evolving needs of young Nigerians.

Developing Actionable Policy Recommendations

The outcomes from this conference will not just be theoretical but will be synthesised into clear, implementable recommendations that will be presented to policymakers at the highest level.

🇳🇬 Presidential Commitment to Youth

His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has repeatedly affirmed that Nigeria’s most valuable endowment is not found beneath the soil but in the boundless potential of its young people.

Under the aegis of the Renewed Hope Agenda, President Tinubu has placed youth empowerment at the heart of his administration’s priorities, anchoring national progress on the pillars of inclusion, innovation, and opportunity. This commitment is neither rhetorical nor symbolic; it is evidenced by deliberate policies and unprecedented actions to centre young Nigerians in the architecture of governance, economic growth, and civic renewal.

From the rollout of a comprehensive student loan programme and the elevation of young technocrats to key ministerial positions, to initiatives such as the National Talent Export Programme (NATEP) and digital economy reforms, the President’s message is unmistakable: the future must be co-authored by its rightful inheritors.

The National Youth Conference 2025 embodies this vision. As the most extensive youth-driven dialogue in Nigeria’s history, it convenes voices from all 360 federal constituency areas and the diaspora to co-create a bold, generational policy blueprint for national transformation.

President Tinubu’s leadership offers more than hope. It offers young Nigerians a seat at the table, a stake in the process, and the tools to shape a more just, prosperous, and inclusive nation.

His belief is resolute:

“Youth will not be exploited to do the bidding of the government. Instead, our administration will work with and for the youth, providing them with a platform through which they may fulfil their greatest aspirations.”

In championing the cause of young Nigerians, President Tinubu is not merely investing in a demographic , he is investing in the nation’s destiny.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu , GCFR

Honourable Minister,
Federal Ministry of Youth Development

What the minister has to say

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, is very enthusiastic about providing young people the opportunity to speak their minds freely and offer perspectives on governance issues. Even as a candidate, his manifesto was very clear on the need to provide multiple platforms for youth to engage with the government and give feedback on youth-related programs and policies.

As Minister for Youth Development, the President gave me the charge to ensure we close the gap between the government and the youth, and that we create the enabling environment for young people to feel connected with the government. It was in fulfillment of this objective that we established the Youth Help Desk. It was to attain that goal of making sure Nigerian youth “feel,” “see,” and “touch” the government that the President approved the establishment of a Youth House. And it is in furtherance of that singular objective that we have now introduced a National Youth Confab.

At this important moment in our democratic journey as a nation, the youth of Nigeria need a government that thinks and governs with them, not for them. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has already earned a fitting place in the history of Nigeria for his unmatched commitment to youth involvement as active players in the highest decision-making organs of government. But this conference stands as a testimony to the President’s desire to extend his youth inclusion agenda to embrace a wider network of resourceful Nigerian youth—including those at the grassroots—to contribute their ideas and knowledge to the progress and development of our nation.

Some have said that the government does not need a conference to know what the youth think. However, while there has been a lot of talk and criticism, what is missing is the required coherence and clarity in making practicable inputs into the government’s youth development agenda—especially by the youth themselves. Therefore, this conference will not be just another dialogue or talk shop; rather, it will be a platform to harness youth-driven solutions that will impact our overall national development.

I, therefore, look forward to the active participation of youth across the country, and I hope that the outcome will serve as a worthy legacy—marking us as the turning point generation: the generation that helps with ideas to build a secure and prosperous nation, where youth potential is not just a promise but a tangible reality.

Why should you attend ?

The National Youth Conference 2025 embodies this vision. As the most extensive youth-driven dialogue in Nigeria’s history, it convenes voices from all 360 federal constituency areas and the diaspora to co-create a bold, generational policy blueprint for national transformation.

Through grassroots innovation circles, townhalls, and digital mobilisation, the Conference empowers young Nigerians to shape national policy, champion bold solutions, and drive a new era of inclusive development. More than a conference, it is the launch of a generational movement to elevate youth voice, unlock prosperity, and position the President as the President of the Youth.
